Three-day closure of Waiheke Island Transfer Station announced

Auckland Council advises that the Waiheke Island Transfer Station will be closed to the public and all customers for three days from Tuesday 30 June to Thursday 2 July to allow for the transition to the new Community Resource Recovery Park (RRP).

Roadside rubbish and recycling collections will continue as normal during this period.

The transfer station, located at 108-110 Ostend Road, will be shut from close of business on Monday 29 June and will open again at 8am on Friday 3 July under its new banner as the Waiheke Community RRP.

The facility will be open seven days a week from 8am to 4pm. Before visiting on public holidays, customers should check aucklandcouncil.govt.nz for details on opening hours.

The Community RRP will support Waiheke Islanders to reuse, repurpose, upcycle, and recycle unwanted items – to turn waste into a resource and keep it out of landfill.
