Join this workshop series of different cultural approaches towards being mindful and resourceful by making things by hand.

Connect to Māori tradition through Raranga weaving as we make pāraerae, Māori sandals. Attend a Korean art exhibition opening to explore the intricacies of photographic printing on handmade mulberry paper.

Experience two different approaches to transforming paper into art: from the treasured traditional Chinese art of paper cutting, Korean photographic printing on mulberry paper to the Japanese tradition of Origami.

Have a go to embellish or upcycle your op shop clothes with simple European techniques toward embroidery stitches.

A workshop series to learn and celebrate together:

  • Chinese Paper Cutting: Saturday 23 March, 10:30am-11:20am & 11:30am-12:20pm
  • Japanese Origami- Paper Folding: Sunday 24 March, 11am-11:50am & 12pm-12:50pm
  • Korean Photographic Printing Presentation: Wednesday 27 March 7pm-8pm
  • Upcycle Stitching: Saturday 6 April, 10:30am-2pm
