We are delighted to bring Nowruz to the city, a lively festival supported by Auckland Council for all diverse ethnic communities that observe this ancient ceremony.
Nowruz is celebrated as the beginning of the new year and is considered the most important day in the calendar by over 300 million people worldwide. It has been celebrated for over 3,000 years in regions such as the Balkans, the Black Sea Basin, the Caucasus, Central Asia, the Middle East, and others. This celebration takes place on the day of the astronomical vernal equinox, typically occurring on 21 March.
Join us to showcase the traditions and cultural heritage of Nowruz.
