AYSB was formed in 1967 by Hugh Dixon, and was conducted by Rod McLeay for 41 years. The baton is now held by Michael Jamieson, who has conducted the band for the past 7 years. The band consists of mainly school age and university students, and we perform regularly throughout the Auckland region. We have previously earned Gold at the New Zealand Concert Bands Association Festival and in 2023 earned Silver.
