Waiheke Local Board has contracted a group of island residents to review and refresh Essentially Waiheke: a Village and Rural Community Strategy.
This review process – named Waiheke Speaks – is an independently run, community-led consultation aimed at getting fresh views on the future of the island.
“Essentially Waiheke helps guide the local board in decision making and provides a clear community vision of where Waiheke’s future lies,” says Paul Walden, Waiheke Local Board Chair.
“This is an important document for the area, so I encourage everyone to provide input and help create a shared sustainable vision for Waiheke.”
Visit Waiheke Speaks to view the document and give your feedback.
The Waiheke Speaks team is holding a number of public meetings and focus groups open to the public. Contact kiaora@waihekespeaks.org.nz to get involved.
