Swimmers at Waiheke advised to wash off

Swimmers at all Waiheke beaches are advised to wash off after being in the sea water due after a number of reports of people experiencing an itchy red rash after being in the sea.

The rash is most likely caused by jellyfish or sea lice and usually occurs where the bathing suit, rash suit or even long hair touches the body.

We advise parents to be especially careful to ensure children are washed thoroughly after swimming.
