Nau, or ‘Cook’s Scurvy Grass’, is one of the many coastal herbs which would have helped rid Captain Cook’s crew of scurvy.

Aside from its historic ties, Nau is notable for its nationally endangered status.

Nau is instantly recognisable for its many branches, dark green leaves and year-round white fragrant flowers.

Although a strictly coastal plant in the wild Nau can be seen in the Threatened Native Plants section of Auckland Botanic Gardens.
