Stanmore Bay Pool and Leisure Centre on the Hibiscus Coast has won the national Outstanding Swim School of the Year award in the under 1,000 students category.
The award, announced at the New Zealand Swim Coaches and Teachers Association conference in Rotorua over the weekend, recognises “outstanding achievements and contribution to achieve excellence in swim school operations”.
“We are delighted to have won this national award for our small, local swim school,” says centre manager Matthew Burden.
“Our swim students love that we are community focused and family friendly, and we strive to be the best in New Zealand.”
“Whether you’re a keen swimmer or you have little confidence around the water, we have a quality facility and excellent tuition options available locally. Our two indoor heated pools are ideal for leisure swimming, training, learning to swim or just splashing around and having fun.”
Affordable swimming lessons for all ages

Learning to swim and water safety are essential life skills. More than 500,000 swimming lessons take place in Auckland Council owned pools each year, helping Aucklanders to get the most out of their beautiful coastline.
“Winter is the perfect time to learn to swim in our heated indoor pools so that come summer, swimmers will have the confidence to make the most of it,” says Matthew.
“We are so proud to be the recipients of this award, which is a testament to our swim instructors and their passion for teaching their swimmers how to be safe in and around the water.”
