The Matakana Pedestrian and Cycle Bridge is now complete.
The 52m bridge on Leigh Road provides safe and convenient access to the Matakana Village area.
Matakana Coast trail
It is also a key feature on the Matakana Coast trail, a recreation and adventure trail from Pūhoi to Mangawhai.
A 3m wide shared path, new pedestrian refuge island, signage and other traffic features all make the area safer for pedestrians and cyclists.
The project is a public-private partnership funded and supported by the Matakana Coast Trail Trust, Auckland Transport and Rodney Local Board.
