Get your walking shoes ready for Totara Park Challenge (1)

Get set for a 6-km fun walk with interesting challenges on the way.

Manurewa Local Board is inviting the community to join the Tōtara Park Challenge on March 2. The fun walk will include light challenges and interactive activations around the history and various uses of the park along the way. As a reward for your efforts, participants can enjoy live entertainment and fun activities at the start and finish zone.

The free community event is open to walkers and runners of all ages and abilities, but registration is necessary if you want to take part in the challenge.

Manurewa Local Board member Joseph Allan encourages people to come with their families to have some fun and healthy time together.

“Activities such as these are very important to get people more active. The good thing is that it’s a fun walk and not a race. People can enjoy walking or running at their own pace while learning something new.

"So come along, have fun, enjoy the live entertainment and see what our park has to offer.”

The event will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Tōtara Park, Wairere Road, The Gardens, Auckland. The onsite registrations will start at 9 am, followed by a challenge warm up at 9.45 am. You can register as a group or an individual on Eventbrite.

More information is available on the event page on Facebook. If wet, the event will be rescheduled to 16 March.
