Like all of us, kids feel a little disoriented during lockdown.
They miss their friends, teachers, sports and their normal daily rhythm. But they’ll see the glass is half full if we can keep our kids busy, entertained and learning.
Try out these great ideas from Auckland Council, our libraries and facilities across the region.
Click and collect from your library
Auckland Council Libraries has launched a contactless click and collect service for Aucklanders keen to keep reading and learning over lockdown.
The contactless click and collect service allows Aucklanders to request specific library items online and pick them up from the library that is most convenient for them. You can also request a Ready-to-Go Read pack, where a genre or age range can be selected online, and librarians will select a pack of books to be collected.

Bubble up and make memories with your kids
Your kids might never have seen dad pretend to be the Skytower or mum dance in the park, but now’s your chance to get active outdoors with your kids.
Head to your local park and get amongst some games from your childhood or have a bubble scavenger hunt. You’ll make life-long memories.
Discover our museums, galleries and zoo
Now that Auckland is at Alert Level 3 Step 2, the kids might be a bit tired of heading down to the local park every week and are wanting to try somewhere new.
A number of our facilities are providing some ways to give kids something new and exciting to enjoy.
MOTAT, Auckland's museums, libraries, galleries and the zoo are all reopening, giving you some great options for fun days out with your family.
