Summer is here and there's no better place to spend it than in Tāmaki Makaurau.

From our region's beaches, forests, trails and maunga to amazing swimming pools and splashpads, museums, galleries and events, there's something for every age, taste and ability going on in Auckland this summer.

To get you in the summer mood, guide you off the beaten track and help you to find your new favourite summer spot, we've enlisted four Aucklanders to share their thoughts on a perfect summer and to reveal their summer hangouts:

Matt - Nihotupu Dam Walk

There are heaps of great spots to get out and enjoy the great outdoor this summer. Matt loves the Upper Nihotupu Walk in Waitākere Ranges Regional Park, but there are so many more parks and paths to see too, wherever you are in the region.

Mei-Leng - Murrays Bay

Murrays Bay Beach Reserve is a great place for a relaxing walk along the beach or a picnic with friends and whānau. Nearby, you'll find the Murrays to Rothesay Bay Path and the Campbells to Murrays Bay Path - both offering scenic seafront views.
