International men’s hockey and a health and wellness experience are among events receiving funding from Rodney Local Board’s contestable targeted events fund.

Parks and Recreation Committee chair Brent Bailey says part of the fund is allocated to first-time events taking place in the Rodney Local Board area.

“Events that showcase our area, attract visitors and talent from around New Zealand and overseas, and create opportunities for local involvement are a win-win for Rodney.

“Coming into summer, are our well-loved annual events. We look forward to them all year long as they bring families and communities together to celebrate and have fun.”

This year, $25,000 is being allocated to the following events:

  • Kowhai Festival – $5000
  • North West Health Experience 2019 – $4000
  • International Men’s Hockey at Warkworth – $4000
  • Warkworth A&P Show - $2000
  • Helensville A&P Show – $2000
