Once Upon A Time Story Writing Contest
Parnell Library has a story writing contest running throughout the holidays, closing date is April 28. We have two age categories:
- 5-8 years old
- 9-12 years old
Your story can be about anything you like, including our school holiday movie theme, such as Pokomons, Despicable Me, Kung-Fu Panda, etc.
Winners will be announced on May 3 via Facebook. We will contact you personally, so please include your age and email address when submitting your story.
You can email your stories to ParnellLibrary@aklc.govt.nz Or hand in your story to library staff.
Movie themed Scavenger Hunt
Follow the clues around the library and find a minion, a kung-fu panda, or maybe Elsa. This is a drop-in activity that will run throughout the school holidays.
Robogals Workshop - Saturday April 13, 10-11:30AM

Connect 4 and Board Games - Monday April 15, 1-6 PM
Come and learn all the tricks to win Connect 4 and once you mastered the winning moves you can challenge your friends and siblings to a mini tournament. (Please bring your own Connect 4)
We also have lots of old-school board games for you to play throughout the afternoon.
Story Writing Starters - Tuesday April 16, 10-11AM
If you want to enter our Once Upon a Time storywriting contest but need help, join us for a fun session. We will give you lots of ideas to get you started on your story.
Kung Fu Panda themed Dungeons and Dragons - Tuesday 23 April
2 sessions: 10.AM-12 PM and 2-4 PM
An introductory game of D and D is suitable for new and experienced players.
Ages 11-13.
