Auckland Council's staffed services and facilities will require the use of vaccination passes when they reopen until at least 17 January 2022.
On the day Auckland moves into the COVID-19 Protection Framework, the Tāmaki Makaurau region can also celebrate the achievement of 90 per cent of the eligible population being fully vaccinated across the region.
Tāmaki Makaurau is now under the Red setting of the COVID-19 Protection Framework.

From Friday 3 December the council will require its employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to carry out their roles.
Auckland Council’s 42 pool and leisure centres will require all Aucklanders aged 12 and over to be fully vaccinated in order to use their facilities, under the Red and Orange Protection Framework levels.
Auckland Council is asking for feedback from its 170 elected members over the next two weeks on draft guidelines around access to council offices and meeting spaces for those with and without COVID-19 vaccinations.
